Not a big deal if you decide to go for the newer AIM2-CUE module as all modules include at least a 2-port license to connect to either CUCM or CME. Cue Installer Aim 7.4. The new CCNP VOICE exams are based on UC 8.0 software so that those exams cover CUE 8.0 of course which does require mailbox licenses. The original AIM-CUE module reached EOL already and only supports versions up to 7.x which means that you cannot install any 8.x versions on that module. You also need to be careful which AIM module you buy depending on what you want to do. Starting with version 7.1 and beyond you must buy at least some mailbox licenses because now all licenses are enforced. The older CUE versions up to 7.0 do not require licenses to run mailboxes etc.
